I feel empty... as if something valuable had been taken away from me... if I'm not surrounded by greenery... and at least some flowers. In Madras, my house does have a garden, but in Bombay, I have to make do with potted plans and some fresh roses from the florist.
White flowers are my favourite, especially mogras [jasmine], because of their heady fragrance. I don't wear mogras in my hair too often but they're a must at the poojas at home.
My obsession happen to be white flowers. I don't know why but whenever I get bouquets, they're of flowers of many, many different colours. The first bouquet I ever received in my life was when one of my early Telegu films turned out to be a hit... I was also thrilled when Amitabh Bachchanji sent me a truck full of flowers after seeing the rushes of my Dushman Dil ka Jo dance number from Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja.
A sweet fan of mine.. he's just 12... send me flowers every day. Without fail. I can recognise the pink carnations but he also sends me exotic flowers which I've never seen in my life. He must be a rich kid because, on occasion, he has even sent me orchids. I keep telling him not to waste his money but he won't listen. I asked his parents to make him stop, but they said, "We're your fans also. We'll feel hurt if you turn down our flowers."
I guess my little fan is obsessed about my obsession.
