Sridevi had the difficult task of being noticed in a film starring the late, great Smita Patel. She did a fine job essaying the role of the 'other' woman in the film.
Working on their fortes, Smita Patel had the big emotional scenes in the film. While, Sridevi, who was still a relative newcomer to Bollywood at the time, had the song & dance and seductress routine. Smita Patel spoke well of Sri during the making of the film and Sri, as usual, spoke only well of her senior co-stars. [Rajesh Khanna was nearly 20 years older than her!].
Sridevi had a few excellent dances in the film, choreographed by P.L. Raj, Suresh Bhatt and Saroj [we are assuming its Saroj Khan but the film credit simply says 'Saroj'].
Released after the untimely death of the iconic Indian actress Smita Patel, the movie was dedicated to her.
Pity the film was a box-office flop, despite fine performances by the leading ladies. Rajesh Khanna, well, he had his own style of performing...

BTW the film was directed by Ravi Tandon - father of Raveena Tandon.
