Love in Tokyo: Sridevi promotes English Vinglish in Japan: Dubbed as Madam in New York

Iconic Indian actress Sridevi arrived in Tokyo for the premiere of the film English Vinglish, dubbed in Japanese for the international market.

Before she left her residence in Mumbai, she tweeted, "Off to Tokyo, Japan for super premiere of English Vinglish dubbed in Japanese."

Held on Thursday (29 May, 2014), the film is slated for release across 33 screens in Japan on June 28. Akie Abe, wife of Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, and popular Japanese singer Agnes Chan were present for the premiere of the film, which had a worldwide release in October 2012. The buzz for the film in Japan began last year when Shinde was invited to attend the prestigious Aichi International Women's Film Festival in August 2013. The film was screened and received near-universal praise.

Earlier this week, Sridevi dressed in Sabyasachi creations (the same designer who did her entire look for the film). Glowing in red, glittering in gold, Sridevi looked resplendent at the events held complementing the film. The movie is dubbed as Madam in New York for the Japanese audience.
