Sridevi on the sets of Mr India with the terrific kids and Anil Kapoor

There's nothing more ingratiating than a child actor in Bollywood - except in Shekhar Kapoor's films. Masoom of course and especially in Mr India, the child actors were were not trope, saccharine  characters but each had an individual personality, trait and quirk. 

Two of them grew up in Bollywood including director and choreographer Ahmed Khan (seen above holding the cockroach!) and young Aftab Shivdasani, who saw some success in Bollywood as a hero and comedic actor. Funnily enough, his two best films both included Sridevi - Chaalbaaz and Mr.India - even though he found great box-office success in Kasoor (2001). None of his films thereafter have been close to the popularity levels of Mr.India, which remains a favourite of generations.
