Throughout the 1980s, Sridevi was a fixture in tabloid covers. She famously didn't read most of them and just wanted to make sure she looked good in the pictures. Early day film journalism was mostly speculation and grand fiction, which never affected her life so Sri rarely bothered about what was written about her and concentrated on her work (as her formidable career shows!).
