Saif Ali Khan with Sridevi on the cover of Filmfare: July 1994

Back in the day, there was a buzz about this special edition, we heard about it long before we saw it on newsstands; Sridevi and Saif Ali Khan on the cover of Filmfare, July 1994!

An exclusive shoot for the magazine by Sridevi favourite, photographer Rakesh Shreshta.

Here is the entire collection of images from that very cool shoot - an amazing series of pics. With great beauty, comes great power! Saif Ali Khan spoke about being nervous before meeting 'the great Sridevi.'

An improbable pair, Saif Ali Khan and his family (be it Sharmila Tagore, ex-wife Amrita Singh, current wife Kareena Kapoor or daughter Sara Ali Khan) are all fans of Sridevi. All have mentioned at some point or another in interviews (feel free to Google!).

Rumours are, in the 1990s, a film producer asked Sridevi to do a film with Saif - but she declined saying she'd only do the film if the role required a younger hero; Saif was seven years younger. Considering the fuss and bad press Sridevi got for working with Salman Khan (who was only two years younger), she was careful in her choices thereafter! Mind you, we all know the films (Chaand kaa Tukdaa and Chandra Mukhi - yikes x 2!), were to blame more than the star-pairing....

On a rather off tangent note; after an unfortunate incident at a concert series in the US, Saif Ali Khan and Madhuri Dixit never got along - both stated as much in interviews in MOVIE magazine.

Sridevi and Saif Ali Khan remain cordial and respectful. "She [Sridevi] has dignity and poise," said Saif Ali Khan to Filmfare. "No actress I have worked with has as much control as she does. The shoot was the highpoint of my day. If she ever agrees to act with me, it would be an honour..."
