Sridevi and Rajinikanth in Naan Adimai Illai (1986)

Naan Adimai Illai was Sridevi's penultimate appearance in a Tamil film before her long hiatus. She later returned to Tamil films as the evil Queen in Puli (2015).

Paired with her frequent co-star, superstar Rajinikanth, the two Tamil film icons gave fine performances in Naan Adimai Illai (1986) but, sadly, the movie had a rather tepid response at the box-office.  This is obviously before fans of Thalaivar turned into fanatics! As the images reveal, Sridevi looked oh-so-pretty in the family melodrama.
