Mid 1980s fashion was exactly that; mid. Not a favourite era for fashion, film or music.. apart from the occasional glimmer in the coal mine. Have to state, I was not a fan of Sridevi around this time - gasp - but it was certainly no reflection on her but the kind of movies and film songs that were being produced. Loud. Everything was loud, from the shrill screaming soundtracks to the faxu diamantes to the technicolour colour combinations we saw on the big screen. WHY was everyone yelling?!
Then a certain softness came, be it in melody or rom com. Thank God.
Sridevi was defensive of the 80s, said it had its own charm. No Sri - only you had the charm. The rest was riff-raff.
