The most comprehensive fan blog dedicated to India's most beautiful and greatest actress of all-time (in our humble opine!), Sridevi. Sridevi aka Sreedevi, ruled Indian cinema (with awesome performances in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi films) in a career spanning 50 incredible years featuring 266 films. Born in Sivakasi on August 13 1963, her untimely and tragic death on February 24, 2018 left a nation in mourning. In our hearts, she'll forever be, the eternal Queen of Bollywood.

The fake and the real: Indian stars and their fake pic explosion: Sridevi falls victim
The fake and the real: Indian stars and their fake pic explosion. It's such a worrying trend for those who've thought this true... Its misinformation and deception in jpegs. It isn't Sridevi in a red dress, its a morphed pic with a digitally enhanced dress. We'll only be posting fake pics next to their real ones for context.

NTR was 40 years her senior and this film was a smash hit and remade in other languages.

Sridevi on the sets of Meri Biwi Ka Jawab Nahin
Beautiful Sridevi on the sets of Meri Biwi Ka Jawab Nahin
The tragedy of this film -- and there are several tragic moments throughout -- it could have been a rockin' comedy, alas was hastily released (even with a 10 year delay!) without proper editing or completion. Sridevi and Akshay Kumar could have reworked this into something magical. But but but...

The face! Sridevi in Chandra Mukhi
The face! Sridevi in and as Chandra Mukhi
How she looked so great in a movie that was hardly one, its amazing to me that there are young fans of this fantasy film (and remake!) even now.

TBT to 2002: Sridevi goes into film production:
TBT: Sridevi goes into film production. This snippet from 2002. Originally the remake of Not Without My Daughter was meant to star Sridevi--as per early discussions on the film circa 2000--, but Sridevi was busy with newborn Khushi Kapoor. Fardeen Khan was in discussion to work in the film but dropped out and Sanjay Kapoor took over. Later the film was offered to Kajol who turned it down and finally the film led with Karishma Kapoor, who gave one of her better performances in her career. The only thing people mostly remember of course was the memorable guest appearance of Aishwarya Rai in the Shahrukh Khan led song and dance routine Ishq Kamina... The film wasn't a blockbuster, but the catchy tune was. And Aishwarya looked incredible!

TBT: Sridevi at Chiranjeevi's Birthday Celebrations back in 2006
Sridevi at Chiranjeevi's birthday celebrations hosted by the Telugu Film Industry at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad. Sridevi was warmly greeted by the crowds as the stunning actress looked as gorgeou as ever. Sridevi arrived with her film producer husband Boney Kapoor, greeted her Telugu film colleagues and met up with her erstwhile co-star of superhit films, Amitabh Bachchan, who flew in to celebrate Chiranjeevi as well.

The call from the dream factory came... And then I met 'the great' Sridevi
This day, that year... Running the blog for years finally paid off!
Got a call/e-mail from hope productions about English Vinglish. I chatted with two people before talking to this new gal in the industry... who went on to be one of the most decorated directors in Indian cinema Gauri-take-a-bow-you-gentle-genius- Shinde.
Weeks later, I flew down to Mumbai, met Gauri Shinde, met Sridevi... had an existential moment of all my dreams coming true all at once.
I rethink a million things now, I wish I had asked Sridevi... so many things. Instead of standing there like a bumbling blithering idiot. Ah. coulda woulda shoulda... so many things rework in my mind, especially now that her sudden gut-punch passing has left me bereft in ways I can't express. There were visions that we'd meet again (we did - in Macau).
I dreamed and had mood-board goals that we would collaborate on a cover shoot, we'd chat longer, speak in Tamil (I'd learn!) and ya know, replace Manish Malhotra as her new best friend. Sanity was a stranger after meeting Sri...
English Vinglish surpassed so many of my expectations. Meeting Sridevi was... surreal.
Having dedicated a chunk of my free time to ensure the factual legacy of an iconic Indian actress lives on, that the erosion of her memory with falsehoods and myth, does not occur, this page is entering its 24th year of existence. Every year, every few months a false report, image, newsbyte - with zero-fact checking, veracity or editing - goes viral. It's unfair and deceptive to do that to the enduring memory of a legend who gave 50 of her 54 years on earth to Indian cinema.
