Aasman Se Gira (1992): Sridevi memorable guest appearance in a children's film

Sridevi had a special appearance in the film Aasman Se Gira [Fell from the Sky].

To be honest, we weren't huge fans of the movie - but then, perhaps we weren't the target audience. An average children's film that did no big shakes at the box-office, director Panjak Parasher tried to cash in on the tremendous appeal Sridevi had with kids in the wake of Mr.India and Chaalbaaz's critical and commercial success. Sridevi's in it for barely a few minutes, while Kalpana Iyer, Anupam Kher and Raghuvir Yadav are the principle cast while young Master Abhishek had the pivotal role.

Apart from Sridevi, Anil Kapoor, Sheeba and Amjad Khan made cameos too. Produced by NFDC, the movie was released straight to video (as far as we can remember) and ran in a few film festivals.

This montage of Sridevi captures her glittering presence in the film.

Sridevi, "I did a guest role in the children's film, Aasman se Gira, because it was fun and not because it was commercial."

Left: Post of Aasman Se Gira. Anil Kapoor and Sridevi has brief cameo in the film, but they were used in the publicity shots!

Aasman Se Gira (1992): Anil Kapoor and Sridevi's rare guest appearance

Anil Kapoor and Sridevi did a special appearance in the children's film Aasman Se Gira (1992). Sridevi played yet another celestial being in the movie. Although the two stars only had brief cameos in the movie - they were featured all over in the publicity stills of the film.

From what little we remember of the movie, Sridevi looked gorgeous in the film. She did the walk-on role in the film in the wake of her magnificent Filmfare award win for Chaalbaaz. What's the connection? Both films were directed by Pankaj Parasher.

The film was released on 4 September 1992
