Launched on 9/8/1991, the biggest stars of Bollywood were at the launch/mahurat of Saawan Kumar Tak's Chaand Kaa Tukdaa. Sridevi and Salman Khan in front of the camera, Amitabh Bachchan did the first clap as Sridevi dazzled in white and Salman Khan... danced around!

It's so rare that Sridevi would speak out but for someone as painstakingly professional as her, to see an unprofessional co-star who didn't turn up on set on time, didn't know his lines, and that too being her lead... 

Sridevi spilled the tea during a rare MOVIE magazine interview--and that too on a cover story! To confirm her statements, in the same issue, the film's writer, lyricist, producer and director, Saawan Kumar Tak, spoke out against Salman Khan for his wayward ways, mismanagement of dates and timing. 

In due course, Salman recognised his error of ways, and went on to work with Saawan Kumar Tak in a few following films (all flops btw!), but didn't charge the senior producer his usual, astronomical fees. Sridevi and Salman Khan maintained a friendship till the very end. Khan went on to state on TV shows that she was his favourite co-star of ALL time.

A film written by Salman Khan no less, it will test the patience of any fan of Sri or Sallu. 

Just plain awful! 

Howeverrrrrrrrr - we've found kids really like the film. A certain gen grew up loving this fantasy tale where in a Salman Khan film, the leading lady gets the title role and all the songs picturised on her... Simper times. God-awful movie! But Sridevi looked gorgeoussssssssssssssssssss throughout the movie.
