Sridevi in Sultanat as Shehzadi Yasmeen: One of Ten Films in Bollywood in 1986

Released on 11 Mar 1986, Sultanat was a massive costume drama that... tanked.

Not to worry, the hardest working Indian actress Sridevi had a whopping 14 releases that year; ten Hindi films, three Telugu and one Tamil!

Namely;

  1. Aag Aur Shola — Released February 21,  1986 [Guest appearance].
  2. Sultanat — Released March 11, 1986.
  3. Suhaagan — Released March 14, 1986
  4. Dharam Adhikari, Released April 11, 1986.
  5. Bhagwaan Dada, April 25, 1986
  6. Aakhree Raasta — Released June 6, 1986.
  7. Janbaaz — Released June 20, 1986.
  8. Ghar Sansar — Released July 11, 1986.
  9. Karma — Released August 8, 1986.
  10. Nagina — Released November 28, 1986.

Furthermore, Sridevi appeared in Telugu Films Oka Radha Iddaru Krishnulu, Jayam Manade and Khaidi Rudraiah

And finally, she was seen on the big screen with Rajinikanth in the Tamil Film Naan Adimai Illai!

Tragically, that was the year Sridevi worked for the last time with Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth. Both were... rather ordinary films one must confess.

As contemporary stars and filmmakers look for pan-Indian audiences, Sridevi was gracefully swaning across the nation with ease and elegance, catering to her rabid audiences without fuss nor fanfare. Wroking the network as the hardest working and highest paid actress of her time.

The Sridevian Era.
