Sridevi's first-born, actress Janhvi Kapoor, gets Sridevi's writing permanently marked on her skin with her latest tattoo. 

Between Khushi Kapoor getting dates marked on her torso, Priyanka Chopra honouring her late father on her hand similarly too, it seems like this trend is going to catch on like wildfire. 

Not sure how you feel about this (or tattoos in general) but OK... we get it. 

It's not as daft as people getting their boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse names, initials or symbols inked. Those are fragile relationships that don't stand the test of time (see any headline on Google; divorce rates are up in India like never before).  But a parent child bond is not as tenuous. 

Manish Malhotra to direct: Sridevi's kiss from the beyond

Manish Malhotra, celebrity designer, is going the way of Tom Ford - now he plans to direct! 

Manish Malhotra started off as a male model in Mumbai in the early 90s, stylist to the stars, then designer, then mega-watt celebrity designer and really became a fashion institution, synonymous with high-wattage glamour, glitz and glitter. Now, age 54, he's going to start directing a movie. 

The news came via his 'mooh-boli-beti' Janhvi Kapoor who announced on her social media platform, with this throwback pic of Sridevi laying one on Manish on his 50th birthday. 

Too cute.

Now before you tut-tut, do remember that Tom Ford, a celebrity designer in the West - did the same years ago when he first directed A Single Man. A highly stylish movie (expected) and quite frankly a stunning piece of work, a phenomenal directorial debut.  

Ever the aesthete, we think Manish will present a film beautifully too. Now will it have gravitas or depth... we don't know yet. But one waits with breath that is baited. 

Janhvi Kapoor wrote on her Insta' stories, " Manish Malhotra, on this new journey, can't wait for the world to see all the knowledge and love you have for films and see the magic that you crate with it. It's going to be so special."

Sridevi's first born lands her first Best Actress Nomination at Filmfare: Janhvi Kapoor for Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl

Earlier today, it was announced that film producer Boney Kapoor and actress Sridevi's eldest daughter Janhvi Kapoor has been nominated for a highly coveted award, Filmfare Best Actress; for the film Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl 

Two films old and a title-role, that's quiet an achievement for Sridevi's first-born. Looking at the list of nominees, however, well, she's not going to win, but an honour to be nominated blah blah blah, yaddah yaddah yaddah. 

On the plus side, young Janhvi Kapoor at age 24 - and only two films old (three if you count her short film on Netflix Ghost Stories) is making smart choices and opting for films that show range, not just box-office potential. 

Sridevi of course made the fine balance of entertainment versus meaningful cinema in her storied career.  When it comes to awards, there aren't any who can measure up to Sridevi's vast achievements from a young age. 

At age seven, Sridevi was walking up on stage to pick up the Kerala State Film Award for the Malayalam film Poombatta, Sridevi's first Best Actress Filmfare was for the Tamil film Meendum Kokila - when she was only 18. By age 19, Sridevi won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actress for Moondram Pirai, considered by many actors and directors as her finest performance. Ever.
