As its commonly known, fresh of the mega success of DDLJ, Shahrukh Khan guest starred in an extended cameo in the film Army, just to work with Sridevi back in 1996.  

We found these recent pre-release publicity stills - Shahrukh and Sridevi looked sooo good together. The film was.. ok. Sridevi was phenomenal. As usual.

28 June 1996, when the press had written off Sridevi, she came back with the leading lady-centric Hindi film, Army which was a box-office hit and Sridevi garnered high praise and several Best Actress nominations (as usual) for her performance.

Shahrukh Khan had an extended guest appearance - which he did solely to work with the legend.

Here we are 23 years later - celebrating the resounding success of the film. Every time Sridevi was written off, she emerged from the ashes. 

If only she could do it one more time...
