Held in early 1990s, the Tamil, Telugu and Hindi film industry reps turend up en mass for the glamorous reception. 

The wedding made headlines in Tamil Nadu as even major politicians attended. 

Later, SHOWTIME magazine asked Sridevi in August 1990, a bizarre question. 

Excerpt: 

SHOWTIME: Is it true your parents were against your sister Latha’s marriage? They wanted you, as the older child, to get married first. Since you didn’t, Latha ran away and you had rushed home to settle the matter?

Sridevi: (Frowns) Nonsense! Nothing like this happened. Why should we object to Latha’s marriage? The boy comes from a good family of high court judges. It’s natural for parents to want their older daughter to get married first, but then Latha got a good proposal, so why should I or my parents object? She is happy with her new family and she and her husband come home often. Yes, I miss her so much, but that is normal."

Sridevi arrived with husband Boney Kapoor at Tulsi Kumar and Hitesh Ralhan’s wedding reception held in Mumbai on Monday (2 March, 2015). Wearing a Manish Malhotra designed saree, the actress looked, in a word, perfect.

TBT: Sridevi and Boney Kapoor attended Madhuri Dixit and Shriram Nene's wedding reception in Mumbai with their young daughter Janhvi Kapoor. 

At the time of the reception, Madhuri was working in the Hindi film Pukar - under the Kapoor banner.  

While the media-fueled rumour of the cold war between the two actresses was written about at length, the two leading ladies were cordial, professional, polite in print about the other from beginning till... the date. 

I started collecting every cover, feature, where editors and quasi-journalists (a lot of creative fiction writing went on in film tabloids - as is their nature, in the 80s and 90s) pitted the two against each other, they enforced a battle between the two Bollywood leading ladies in print and almost 98% of the time, the two did not take the bait thrown out to spark a media war - instead, they quashed the question. 

Now the rabid response by fan camps of the two leading ladies - whoaaa. If it was bad in the 90s, its vile online. 

As a fan of both, we've taken a few shots online from both parties. Having met both Bollywood superstars and interviewed them for international magazines, in awe of both, in reverence of Sridevi. 

Who you love as a teen, you'll love till the end of time.

Actor Anushka Sharma and cricketer Virat Kohli, were married in a private ceremony on December 11 in Italy, held their first wedding reception on December 21 at the Taj Diplomatic Enclave in Delhi. The second reception in Mumbai saw almost the entire Hindi film industry attend.

Sridevi and Boney Kapoor at a Wedding Reception of Kunal Maria at Tote, Mumbai

Last night, Bollywood's crème de la crème graced the wedding reception of  Mumbai’s top cop Rakesh Maria’s son, Kunal. Sridevi along with Boney Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Raj Kumar Hirani were present to congratulate the new couple.

Eternally beautiful and graceful Sridevi looked dazzling in her transparent net saree and shimmering blouse, which she teamed up with traditional jewellery. She caught up with ol' friend Shobhaa De, who was the first editor of film mag, Stardust.

The reception that was held in Tote, in Mumbai, last night.
