Manish Malhotra's golden anniversary, well, his 50th birthday was one of the most dazzling, glittering affairs in Mumbai ever. There were more stars in attendance than any award show or sponsored event as every Bollywood star with their stripes attended. The images of Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit together were just beyond. Sridevi truly glistened and glowed among a bevvy of Bollywood stars... 

Hard to believe this was just five years ago - seems an era ago. 

On that note, today is Manish Malhotra's 55th birthday. Happy days to Manish - often cited as Sridevi's bestie. 

Abhishek Bachchan talks about fanning out on Sridevi

In a recent interview, while promoting his web series and celebrating 20 years as a working actor in Bollywood, Abhishek Bachchan spoke about his link to Sridevi.

"The reason I did the film Run (2004) was because of Sriji. I remember Boney Kapoor and Srideviji produced the film. And Srideviji, of whom I am a huge fan, showed me the Tamil film (Run, 2002), which Maddy (R Madhavan) had acted in and I was sitting in the preview theatre called Ketnav and I was so excited that I was sitting next to her."

Sridevi & Boney Kapoor at police show Umang, Jan 2013. Wearing yet another gorgeous Manish Malhotra sari, Sridevi was simply dazzling at the show. Looking slim and svelte, the stunning superstar in a sari was just beaming and beautiful, as many of today's stars came to wish her.

As Urmila came and joined the Kapoors on the VIP row, it was a 'Judaai' team reunion when all sat together. Sridevi and Urmila co-starred in the dramedy 15 years ago, a film the Boney Kapoor produced. Urmila had also attended the premiere of English Vinglish, a much loved film that's become the sleeper hit of the year.

An annual event,  Umang police show is organized to felicitate the Mumbai police for their hard work and the film industry shows up in full support.
