The most comprehensive fan blog dedicated to India's most beautiful and greatest actress of all-time (in our humble opine!), Sridevi. Sridevi aka Sreedevi, ruled Indian cinema (with awesome performances in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi films) in a career spanning 50 incredible years featuring 266 films. Born in Sivakasi on August 13 1963, her untimely and tragic death on February 24, 2018 left a nation in mourning. In our hearts, she'll forever be, the eternal Queen of Bollywood.

Sridevi in English Vinglish...
To watch her again. Hope the film re-releases on its 10th anniversary. The message is universal, the movie is unforgettable and Sridevi is... immortal.
Every moment of this film... sigh... The mother of all comebacks. There'll never be another Sridevi...

Laurent bids farewell to Shashi: Mehdi Nebbou's touching note biding adieu to Sridevi
I'm
deeply touched by the sudden death of Sridevi. She was connected with
the invisible, divine, a marvelous artist, a shining light, the
personification of grace.
Using the past to talk about her doesn't make sense, she is immortal.
My dear friend, wherever you are at this moment, I wish you peace, rest and gratitude for what you've given to this world.
I will never forget our encounter, our collaboration, our support, our laughs. You and your loving husband have given two wonderful daughters to this World and through the three of them, through the millions of people that your grace have and will forever touch; your Love, your Joy, your Light will live endlessly.... as they did for Charlie Chaplin whom you could imitate so brilliantly...
In the past, in the present and in the future of this World your light will keep on shining and plant seeds of Grace for them to grow till the end of Time...
"Shashi", Sri'... you will forever stay in my heart.
My thoughts goes to your family.
Rest in Peace my dear friend.
Mehdi

Days into its general release in Germany, Englisch für Anfänger (i.e. English Vinglish), has picked up several good reviews. From what we've read and heard so far online, the film has been called a "must-watch" by the Berliners. Other reviews have been mixed but Sridevi has consistently garnered the best notes.Bless. If anyone has other European reviews, kindly let us know - more than happy to post.

Germany liebe Shashi: English Vinglish gets dubbed into German
Shashi is busy celebrating as English Vinglish enters it's second week in 90 cinemas in Germany!
UPDATE: The only Berlin review seen online so far:
From ExBerliner
This charming if straight-faced story of a conservative Indian mother (Sridevi) belittled by her husband and daughter, who comes to New York to assist in her niece’s wedding and decides to learn English, might also have been called Bollywood for Beginners. Featuring the requisite components of a slightly stereotypical assortment of fellow students, simple morality and a singing-dancing wedding, it brings these neatly together without over-emphasising its chief interest: good old self-respect.
English Vinglish (Englisch für Anfänger) | Directed by Gauri Shinde (India 2012) with Sridevi, Adil Hussain, Medhi Nebbou. Starts June 27. Originally published in Issue #117, June 2013
