Sabyasachi's Finest Muse: Sridevi to Aishwarya Rai to Deepika Padukone

Though the Bengali designer has stated he's a fan of Sridevi long before he worked with her in English Vinglish - and she's returned the compliment - clearly if there's a lady to best represent his magnificent Indian outfits, it would have to be the desi diva of divas; Sridevi.

If we did a Bollywood celebrity parade of the leading ladies who wore Sabyasachi Mukherjee's saris and lehengas to various red-carpet events, Sridevi would emerge as the reigning queen who wore his ensemble best.

Sure Rani Mukherjee (fellow Bong) sported his work long before it was fashionable and of course multi-award winning Vidya Balan found redemption on the fashion blog-istan via Sabya, but they didn't do him enough justice.

With her regal aura, her genteel ways, her innate elegance and her screen queen demeanor, Sridevi wore a Sabyasachi sari and killed on the red carpet. Every single time. There may be those who are thinner, taller, younger, perkier, flashier... but certainly, no one better than Sridevi.

Sridevi has sported his creations often, but at the premiere of her film at the Toronto Film Festival, she did the nation and the designer proud with her scintillating sartorial selection.

Powder Blues: Sridevi's makeup fail: She still looks pretty

Sigh.

Sadly, Sridevi's getting potshots on blogsphere with the self-proclaimed fashion police gunning for her. Though she looked absolutely stunning at the recent Koëcsh launch, her makeup artist goofed by applying Makeup Forever HD powder - without considering the fact Sridevi would be the most photographed woman at the event. The foundation itself is super smooth and light for that un-made up look… but under a flash, it creates this unintentional white veneer and patina. And a rather unflattering one.

Not just Sri, actresses Nicole Kidman, Ashley Judd, Eva Longoria and other celebrities have faced the same make-up glitches with this foundation recently.

But of course the haters gonna hate.
We still think Sri looks great!

Stylist Edit: Sridevi and her dresses

Skirting the issue? Sridevi's style file over the years. When she's not rocking a classic Indian look, clearly Sridevi likes her cropped sleeveless top and A-line skirt combo. The belt she's added and taken off depending on the occasion. Charting her western selection from 1984 till 2013, the '80s fashion icon has brought the look back in 2013, and upgraded it with some designer stitches.

Evolution of an eternal fashion diva indeed.

Fashion Police: Sridevi is hot!

"Sridevi is hot! Look at her here. The lady is over 40 (much over, but we won't reveal it here. Do your own research!) and we think she's never looked better. From her stylish ruffled shirt and well-fitted blue jeans to her I'm-a-superstar-and-I-know-it toss of the head, she makes a totally delectable picture.

What we're not sure about, however, is her eyesight. Can she not see the shirts hubby Boney Kapoor wears? Has she no veto powers? Could she not accidentally set fire to his clothes and then buy him a whole new wardrobe that she chose?

We're just saying..."
