How beautiful Sridevi looks.

From the shelved film Garajna. The film started shooting in 1987 - was nearly complete and due for release in March 1991, but lost in litigation mires, legend has it, the reels of the film stay in a vault somewhere in Mumbai!

Some fans have requested that the movie be released but if you've seen the trailer, it looks like a cacophonous mess. A mish mash of well trodden plots of double roles for Sridevi, revenge drama, loud music and mindless action.

It reminds us of fans anticipation for the Akshay Kumar - Sridevi starrer Meri Biwi Ka Jawab Nahin. The movie was launched with much fanfare, halted in production and a sloppy edit was released a decade later. A movie so unbearably awful, even the most hardcore Akshay and Sridevi fans gave it a thumbs down. We fear the same fate for Garajna and hope it doesn't get released to tarnish the reputation of all those involved!

When we first saw this Manish Malhotra designed sari on Sridevi, we were stunned by how graceful and elegant she looked. On sale at an event, a major socialite picked it up and wore a similar one trying to emulate the iconic Indian actress. And it was a royal mess. There was none of the panache and natural flair that Sridevi exemplified with effortless ease. Be it acting, dancing, style, diva-ness, Sridevi made everything look easy. It wasn't.

The material, the fold, the complexity of design, unless donned carefully, the outfit can overwhelm a lady. Sridevi, a natural model for saris, wore it with ease. Such is not the case for all fashionistas following her, trying to emulate "the goddess of grace" as a media outlet described her...

Though not loving the D&G - not as much as we lurv Sridevi - we do admire the fact that at least Sridevi shakes things up and mixes up her red carpet looks instead of looking the same like her contemporaries, who keep it consistently dull and/or predictable. 

While there are many of us Sridevi fans who loved the look, there have been that usual pinch of haters and naysayers. As always, we choose to ignore them and focus on the one, the only, Sridevi!
