Was a huge hit despite lukewarm reviews.
The most comprehensive fan blog dedicated to India's most beautiful and greatest actress of all-time (in our humble opine!), Sridevi. Sridevi aka Sreedevi, ruled Indian cinema (with awesome performances in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi films) in a career spanning 50 incredible years featuring 266 films. Born in Sivakasi on August 13 1963, her untimely and tragic death on February 24, 2018 left a nation in mourning. In our hearts, she'll forever be, the eternal Queen of Bollywood.

TBT: Launch of Heer Ranjha: Anupam Kher, Anil Kapoor, Sridevi, Sunil Dutt, Amrish Puri and Harmesh Malhotra
The mahurat [launch] of Heer Ranjha was a star-studded affair. Though the film was a colossal flop, Sridevi acted and danced well, as always, looked stunning throughout. Though we remember falling asleep when the movie was originally released (and we remember the scathing reviews and dry run at the box-office), there are several fans of the film who were fond of the classic much re-told tale of the two star-crossed lovers.
In the above pic, along with the cast of the film (Anupam Kher, Anil Kapoor and Sridevi) are Sunil Dutt, Amrish Puri and the film's producer and director, Harmesh Malhotra.
Malhotra was so fond of Sridevi that he repeated her in several films after the massive success of their original collaboration together, Nagina.

Sridevi and Mithun Chakraborty in Watan Ke Rakhwale (1987): Bollywood Blockbuster
Sridevi and Mithun Chakraborthy in Watan Ke Rakhwale. A typical 1980s masala movie. Er. It was awful. But forget our opinion, the movie was a bona fide blockbuster! Go figure... The Sridevi - Mithun chemistry was palpable. Sridevi looked mesmerising, rocking the fashion of the era. Her Indian attire is always on point. Sridevi employed novel sartorial tactics for a specific look in the film; using the embroidered borders of a traditional sari as pleats for her salwaar kameez.
Sridevi worked with a trio of Bollywood legends in this film; Ashok Kumar, Sunil Dutt and Dharmendra. In fact, it was one of the biggest movies of the year; there were three generations of actors and actresses in this film; Ashok Kumar and Lalita Power, Sunil Dutt, Dharmendra, Prem Chopra, Kader Khan and Moushumi Chaterjee and then, Mithun Chakravorty, Shakti Kapoor and Sridevi.
