East or West: Sridevi was the Best! The icon in 2012
The most comprehensive fan blog dedicated to India's most beautiful and greatest actress of all-time (in our humble opine!), Sridevi. Sridevi aka Sreedevi, ruled Indian cinema (with awesome performances in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi films) in a career spanning 50 incredible years featuring 266 films. Born in Sivakasi on August 13 1963, her untimely and tragic death on February 24, 2018 left a nation in mourning. In our hearts, she'll forever be, the eternal Queen of Bollywood.

An interview with a screen teen queen: Kerala star Balachandra Menon with precocious Sridevi
Before Balachandra Menon was an actor (who went on to become a writer, producer and noted director), the veteran actor was a journalist and correspondent for the Malayalam film weekly Nana.
He interviewed a young, teenaged rising star in south films, the precocious and beautiful Sridevi.
She went on to reach the zenith of pan-Indian, national and international fame. But in the 1970s, she was a cute little ingenue and rising star. Well-versed in the Kerala film industry, as a child artist, Sridevi had already won major awards for her work in Malayalam films. The cute cherub won her first award by the age of 10, and before Bollywood took her over, she had acted in around 25 Malayalam films. When she visited Kerala for Onam back in 2013, she spoke briefly in the native language of Kerala and addressed the fact that her cinematic career took off from the south and she had a long association with the industry.

Celebrating Onam in Kerala: Sridevi and Boney Kapoor with Priviraj and Shashi Tharoor

The Onam celebrations began in the State on Saturday with Chief Minister Oommen Chandy officially inaugurating the festivities at the Central Stadium.
The grand inaugural was attended by a galaxy of personalities from the political and film fields. Oomen Chandy honoured actors Sridevi Kapoor and Prithviraj Sukumaran for their contribution to cinema. Actor Sridevi in her address recalled her stint with Malayalam films and paid rich tributes to the industry. She said that the Malayalam industry was always ahead of time.
Giving away Onam greetings, Mr. Prithviraj said the true spirit of Onam was that it was celebrated across the State regardless of religious and caste affiliations.
Last seen in "God's own country" while promoting and starring in Deva Raagam (a film that was not a huge hit despite Sridevi's scintillating performance and her ever-graceful song'n'dance routines), Sridevi looked her Goddessian self while visiting the verdant land.
