When Western celebrities wear saris, its usually a mistake. Just can't get the elegant drape right. Far easier to wear a lehenga-choli - a skirt and blouse really - that's easier to don and walk around in, without tripping all over and constantly clutching fabric for dear life. 

Aniston looks great in it. A great select, understated and beautiful. 

Sridevi looks regal.

Kylie Jenner's pic posted last week is trending on social media. With 366 million people (Damn!) following her every move on Instagram, keen eyed Bollywood-ites noticed the similarity between her ensemble and Sridevi's - published in the book Faces (by the late great photographer Gautam Rajadhyaksha back in 1997).

Happy Birthday Orlando Bloom! Hollywood star with Indian Icon Sridevi

TBT: When Orlando Bloom visited India and met Sridevi. Today, Jan 13 is Orlando's 44th birthday.  The star of Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean and several international blockbusters was shocked to hear Sridevi had done over 250 films - and was mesmerised by the Indian icon. 

Tip of the hat to Sridevi's head-to-toe flawless, elegant and regal look. The regalia provided by her friend, celebrity designer Manish Malhotra.

Just after the event, Fazal spoke to the press about his "fan boy" moment with the legendary Indian actress. "It was indeed a pleasant surprise to meet Sridevi there," he said. "It was a great evening, well spent with some of the biggest names from Hollywood. I told her [Sridevi] how much I admire her as an actress and how till date is an inspiration for so many. We spoke about Victoria and Abdul and she was excited to know about it. She even expressed her desire to see the film soon."

Sridevi at Manish Malhotra's Show at LFW 2015

No shortage of surprises, Sridevi absolutely bowled fans over with her minimalist chic look last night at Manish Malhotra's show at Lakme Fashion Week 2015. The designer, who has worked with the actress since the beginning of his career, will soon do the looks for her upcoming film Puli (due for release later this year).

It was an all-star lineup on the VIP front row of the show as a bevvy of Bollywood beauties, led by Sridevi, sat and applauded the celebrity-designer. With her aura and superstar power undiminished, even the biggest contemporary stars went up to pay their respects to the Queen of Bollywood.

Clad in a blue sari (ah the iconic blue sari - it may be 'the little black dress' in Hollywood, for Bollywood, it'll be a blue chiffon sari surely?!), slim and trim Sri looked ravishing. Be it Neha Dhupia, Huma Qureshi or Sophie Choudry, all fanned out and got a snap with the iconic Indian actress. 

The VIP guest from Hollywood was actress Rosario Dawson - but our eyes were firmly on Indian legend Sridevi.
