How incredible to see and hear Sridevi speak in Tamil after eons. She graces the stage in Tamil Nadu after years and speaks about returning to the southern industry after decades. Her last Tamil film was released 29 years ago - Naan Adimai Illai (1986) and Malayalam film was Deva Raagam (1996).
Still considered an icon in the Tamil film industry for her volume of work and the iconic movies she's acted in, despite the hiatus, there isn't a soul in Tamil Nadu that isn't aware of or familiar with the Sivakasi-born actress.

Stunning Sridevi at Chiranjeevi's 60th Birthday Bash: Party of the Year!
On the evening of August 22, the creme de la creme of showbizz were seen celebrating actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi's birthday, as the southern superstar turned 60. Organised by Chiranjeevi's son, actor Ram Charan Teja , at a 5-star hotel in Hyderabad, the glitzy and glamorous event was attended by a host of celebrities from Bollywood including Sridevi and Boney Kapoor, Abhishek and Jaya Bachchan, Salman Khan, Shatrughan Sinha, Ileana D'Cruz and Vivek Oberoi and his wife Priyanka Alva among others.
Shimmering and glittering in a resplendent sari, Sridevi, who has acted in some of Chiranjeevi's biggest hits, was a sight to behold. Though she hasn't done a Telugu film in decades, the eternal, ethereal beauty had the paparazzi and fans in a frenzy as they went absolutely berserk when she arrived with a dapper looking, tuxedo-clad Boney Kapoor.
Ever the fashionista, with a simple hair-do, diamonds and a glistering sari and clutch, Sridevi was easily the best dressed celebrity that night by a mile. Fashion bloggers and self-appointed trend watchers were all agog at how magnificent the actress looked - who herself just celebrated a birthday last week, looking decades younger than her 52-year-old self.
As a prelude to publicity for her highly anticipated return to Southern film industry in the Tamil film Puli (to be dubbed in various other languages too), fans are waiting for more events and media coverage as the superstar among stars returns with a big bang to southern films.
