Alia Bhatt receieves Best Actress Filmfare trophy from... the Best Actress Sridevi!

As Sridevi presented the Best Actress Filmfare trophy to youngling Alia Bhatt, Alia's father, renowned director Mahesh Bhatt tweeted:

Mahesh Bhatt directed Sridevi in the acclaimed film Gumrah in the early 90s and has said in several interviews that he was/is a fan of the superstar. Sridevi's stellar performance in Gumrah (with Sanjay Dutt) was the seventh highest grossing Hindi film in 1993.

Sridevi stuns in a red Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla sari

We've archived a long history of Sridevi's favourites when it comes to Indian attire and the actress shines and shimmers like no one else. Really, no one else is as graceful, elegant and ethereal looking as this supernova among stars. She clearly has her firm favourites among the designers that are the toast of India; Manish Malhotra, Sabyasachi Mukherjee and Neeta Lulla (in that order).

On rare occasion, she deviates from norm and dons other designers (be it the occasional Nikhil Thampi or the new, younger lot of names).

Here she goes in for the ol' guard, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. Renowned for their prints and patterns, heavy embroidery and embellishment, not all can carry of their designs with élan. But on Sridevi, it looks... to the manor born.

Even the famed duo have been posting on instagram:
