MOVIE magazine cover: Sridevi, The Angry Empress. 

I don't have this issue and rarely posted these pics before as its my least favourite cover shoot. The awful 80s clothes, 'styling', wig, makeup. And I'm shocked that its by Gautam Rajadhyaksha - who usually does the most incredible portraits of stars. 

Oh well, we all have our bad days. And then some.

On the sets of the film Majaal, Jeetendra, Jaya Prada and Sridevi.

Sridevi and Jeetendra as opposing counselors in the film. Sridevi as a lawyer... she really has done every role imaginable on film.

Released on April 1987, the film was produced by Jaya Prada's husband Srikanth Nahata. The rivalry between Jaya Prada and Sridevi is legendary; but business is business. Even she knew having Sridevi in the film would up the value of it in distribution.

An olive branch extended after they famously feuded in print for years.

Er... not her best look. But then, fashion was criminal in the late 1980s!

The short wig, the over-sized clothes, the thick makeup. Hmm.

The title reads: Sridevi: The Angry Empress.
