• faroutakhtar My first job in 1990 was on ‘Lamhe’ and this song ‘Megha re Megha’ was the very first time I saw this legendary actor create her incredible magic on screen.
  From Sadma to Chalbaaz, from Mr.India to Chandni, it was impossible to take your eyes off her when she appeared on screen.
  A true star. A gifted actor. A woman with tremendous dignity.
  Gone too soon. RIP Sridevi.
  Sad sad day.

Sridevi gets air-kissed by Farhan Akhtar on stage at IIFA. Farhan was assistant to director Yash Chopra during the making of Lamhe, a film that was written by his mother Honey Irani (who was also an actress). Lamhe of course went on to win several award including those for Sri and Honey.

Sridevi and family walk the 'green' carpet in Singapore for IIFA 2012. Sridevi and Boney Kapoor graced the stage to give away the Best Film trophy to the team of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.

In an off-shoulder yellow Manish Malhotra sari, flanked with emerald and diamond earrings, the fashion minions and bloggers have already given Sridevi the thumbs up.

Sridevi is, once again, listed among the best-dressed at IIFA 2012.

BTW Farhan Akthar - who was an assistant director to Yash Chopra during the making of Lamhe in the early 1990s, got an air-kiss from Sridevi on stage when his film won an award,

Farhan Akhtar, Sridevi saved my Career!

DNA: You made Sridevi fall on the sets of the film Lamhe. Was that true?
Farhan Akhtar: Sridevi and Saroj Khan were practicing a dance step. Manmohanji, the cinematographer spotted a black patch on the floor and instructed me to polish it. I was the closest to the spot and quickly took the polish and started polishing the floor. As they were practising, Sridevi slipped because of the polish and fell on her back. There was pin drop silence on the set, as you would imagine. I thought to myself ‘there goes my job’. But, Sridevi herself started laughing and then slowly even the others found the courage to laugh. I am seriously eternally grateful to her for laughing it off or else my film career would have been cut very short!
