The cast of Mom fan out on their leading lady: The villains of the movie and Sridevi

On screen, they were her adversaries, the villains that the leading lady went after. Off screen, they were fanboys. The cast and crew of Mom have posted - after the release of the film - how much they fanned out on Sridevi when they met her on set.

Though they were junior artistes in comparison to the legend, they learned through observation the level of commitment Sridevi had to the scenes and how she went out of their way to rehearse with them so they were not intimidated by her legend while shooting on set.

Update: After the death of Sridevi, Sridevi's co-star in the film Mom, model turned actor Vikas Verma said, “I am shocked to hear this. I am still thinking it’s fake news. I can’t forget her smiling face on the set and charismatic nature towards everyone. She was the biggest star of Indian cinema and the most humble too. She always greeted everyone with a smile. She’s gone too soon.”

Abhimanyu Singh: Sridevi made me a better actor

Abhimanyu Singh started his acting career with Aks (2001). Apart from Hindi movies, he has also acted in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Gujarati films. He shares screen space with Sridevi in his next, Mom, in which he plays the main antagonist.

You play the antagonist opposite Sridevi in your next film, Mom. What was it like to work with her?
It was an amazing experience. She helped me become a better actor because she is so passionate, focused and disciplined. There is a lot to learn from her and she really took care of us. I was very lucky to have acted with her in this film and have enjoyed it over our many shooting schedules.
