Sridevi with the cast and crew of Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja: Sridevi with the cast and crew of English Vinglish

A film runs on collective merit.  Reflect on the number of times Sridevi has credited a film or a song's success to the director, choreographer, singer, story-writer, always self-aware and steady in crediting where credit's due.

Funny how most of the current superstars of Bollywood seem to forget that; although they pay lip service to it. Look at the wide chasm of pay scale between film stars and the writers, lyricist, musicians, choreographers, cinematographers.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Aishwarya Rai in English Vinglish instead of Sridevi? Errr. No.

Aishwarya Rai in English Vinglish instead of Sridevi? Errr. No.

You know we love Ash -- we have a separate blog dedicated to her - but only Sridevi could have excelled in English Vinglish. It was a rare alchemy of talent being at the right place at the right time in every department, on and off screen.

On the set: Puli: Sridevi with the cast and crew of the upcoming Tamil film Puli

Over the past 15 years, we've heard so many rumours about Sridevi's return to film that until we actually see an image of her on set, we don't believe it. So much wishful thinking online and pure speculation that often turns to nothing (remember the Meryl Streep film with Sridevi - the news that hit blogs and papers?! What nonsense!).

Thankfully, fans posted images of Sridevi on the set of English Vinglish, and others have now posted this as Sridevi is captured on the set of Puli - her first Tamil film in over 25 years!

As Mani Ratnam famously said, Sridevi's best films have all been in Tamil - Bollywood has yet to tap into the depth of her histrionics.

Sridevi's regal look has been closely guarded so these rare gems are all we get.

We simply cannot wait for Sri's next!!
