Sridevi, the yesteryear diva of Kollywood, who still continues to give many reigning Bollywood and T-town stars a run for their money, is all set to rock tinsel-town again. If sources close to the actress are to be believed, she is making a comeback in a movie produced by none other than Kamal Haasan. The film is to be directed by ace filmmaker Selvaragavan and is tentatively titled Viswaroopam. Sonakshi Singha has been signed to play the lead female protagonist.
Sridevi and Kamal Haasan have paired in many blockbusters in the late '70s and '80s. With their dazzling on-screen chemistry assuring box office hits, the pair was much sought after by directors and producers. Moreover, they also shared a great working relationship, not least because of their common history, both have started their film careers as child-artists at the age of four.
The actress spurned many offers after her marriage with B'wood producer Boney Kapoor. Among these were the Tollywood offers for Maapillai, in which she was invited to play the mother-in-law of Dhanush. Rumour has it that Sridevi refused the offer because the makers did not meet her pay-package demand. The recently released Maapillai is a remake of the Rajnikanth super hit of the same name.
Insiders reveal that it is the 'Kamal' factor that has lured the southern beauty to start her second inning in Tamil. Talks are on and, if all goes well, the Tamil audiences are in for a treat with the glam diva sizzling once again with Kamal Haasan on screen.
