It is the silver anniversary of one of the most epic Hindi films ever made; Khuda Gawah.
Khuda Gawah [God is witness] was released on 8 May 1992, produced by Nazir Ahmed and Manoj Desai. Directed by Mukul S. Anand, with a stellar cast led by Amitabh Bachchan, Sridevi, Nagarjuna, Danny and Shilpa Shirodkar. Music by the acclaimed duo Laxmikant Pyarelal.
Shot extensively in India, Afghanistan, Nepal and Bhutan, Afghan fans of the Indian actress Sridevi have lavished praised on the leading duo. Both superstars were nominated for Best Actor and Best Actress respectively for their work. Though they didn't win that year, the film went on to win four Filmfare awards; Best Director, Best Action, Best Supporting Actor (the awesome Danny Denzongpa) and Best Sound.
As the second-highest-grossing film of 1992, the movie entered India's Limca Book of Records as the first Bollywood film to use surround sound technique.
A sequel to the movie is being planned by producer Manoj Desai, however, after the tragic demise of director Mukul Anand, all plans were shelved.
