While many a critic and reviewer has listed Sadma as their personal favourite, a performance so stellar that it influenced a generation of actors, Sridevi herself was a lot more self-critical and self-aware about her own capabilities. She famously said that she in fact didn't prefer Sadma, but the original Tamil film Moondram Pirai. "The spontaneity was missing in Sadma," she said in an interview and listed the original version and other Tamil films where she thought she performed better.
