Laadla was released theatrically on March 25, 1994. The film was a commercial success becoming the seventh highest grossing Indian movie of the year.
Sridevi's performance as Sheetal Jaitly was widely acclaimed and earned her a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress. Over the course of her illustrious career, she's been nominated over a dozen times for several performances.
