Sridevi on the sets of Naaka Bandi (1990)
Did you know? The song Main Lagti Hoon Sridevi was first shot differently. In the original version, when the names of various Indian actress's were mentioned, their black and white portraits were shown on screen. When the director saw the rushes, he felt something was missing. The images turned to color digitally, and yet, something was lacking. Someone had the ingenious idea to ask Sridevi - a proficient comedienne - to mimic the actresses of the past and recreate iconic looks of those mentioned. It is pure comedic genius and the most watchable song in Sri's vast repertoire.
Left: Sridevi had done a delightful cameo of Charlie Chaplin in Mr India. But copying Chaplin was mere child's play compared with what she's now undertaken in Naaka Bandi. The actress steps into the shoes of popular stars and does some fascinating tributes and caricatures!
