Back then Cine Blitz was Rs 6! As you can study an economy via the price of a MacDonald's burger - it varies around the globe - we judge the state of Bollywood finance according to the price of tabloids. Back in the day, everything was less than Rs10! Annuals were about Rs50. 

Now of course, the figures are staggering when it comes to Bollywood tabloids and tomes. The Amitabh Bachchan special edition book released on his 60th birthday was so eye-wateringly expensive at Mumbai airport that I thought it was a misprint. It wasn't. 

You can still get film rags for a few rupees - but the quality of writing and pictures are so base, you get exactly what you paid for.
