Trending on social media; the fake composite pic of Nita Ambani with Sridevi above. Fan Instagram accounts are generally notorious for not only amplifying images of Sridevi with face tune, photoshop and other app trickery, but often the captions are erroneous, the dates are wrong and the credits too. Only trust the blue tick account (ie verified accounts - but even publishing houses get basic facts wrong - cough cough Filmfare!).
Eg as obviously fake the Sushant Singh Rajput with Sridevi was, the pic went viral, other poorly informed bloggers and social media writers have believed it to be true.
Now this recent composite pic of Mumbai's ultimate socialite, the wealthiest Indian woman alive Nita Ambani with India's greatest actress Sridevi has been seen by thousands of Instagram-ers. The poor composite creates this alternate reality with the caption that the two were buddies. Well, there's scant evidence of that, esp as Sridevi was more often in the company of Tina Ambani (née Munim). Friendly social acquaintances for sure and Nita Ambani stated she loved English Vinglish the film, but a fan isn't the same thing as a "friend." We are the biggest fans of Sridevi - but friends? Wishful thinking!
The only times we've seen Sridevi with Nita Ambani was at Lata Mangeshkar's audio launch and the Kapoors often attended the lavish parties the Ambanis throw; which includes hundreds of Mumbai's creme de la creme.
As with everything on social media, take it with a pinch of salt. And eye-roll.
