Released on 1 March 1986, Naan Adimai Illai was Sridevi's penultimate Tamil film. She returned to Tamil cinema 29 years later in 2015, in the (awful!) film Puli.
Sridevi looked and acted well in this melodrama, but the average box-office instigated Sridevi to concentrate on her sky-rocketing Bollywood career. She constantly worked in Telugu films (better money, prominent roles) without taking a break - and those films often released across the southern region so she wasn't missed by her core fans.
