Sridevi and Krishna in Shamsher Shankar (1982), dubbed into Hindi as Chaalu Pe Chaalu (1989), the original Telugu film was a hit, the poorly dubbed version in Hindi was a flop - trying to cash in on Sridevi's super year (1989 was a high watermark for the Queen of Indian films), Sridevi was not happy at many producers attempts to cash in on Sri's pan-Indian fame. She even mentioned it in an interview-without going into specifics.
Today marks 41 years of the original.
