Of the 20 films above, 11 were blockbusters. For years, Sridevi and Rajinikanth appeared in two films a year on average. One worked, the other didn't - for whatever reason. As its been often said about what the Indian public wants, expects and likes from a film is as unpredictable as ever. A horrific film like Farishtay was despite near-universal bad reviews, the movie more than recuperated its budget. Adhutha Varisu, where Sridevi is superb in a transformative performance, barely recovered it high cost of film production. Actually Kavikuyil was a flop. Sridevi never wanted to work again with Sivakumar. Dharma Yuddham was a hit. The songs such as Aagaya gangai became extremely popular in Tamil Nadu. Naan Adimai Illai was a flop as well and only Sridevi's performance was well appreciated.
