The facepack scene is incredible when you know the history behind it; Sridevi and Waheeda Rehman acted so beautifully - as they did in all four films together;
Film | Year of Release | Hit/Flop |
---|---|---|
Himmatwala | 1983 | Super Hit |
Maqsad | 1984 | Flop |
Chandni | 1989 | Super Hit |
Lamhe | 1991 | Average |

Born on 3 February 1938, the legendary Waheeda Rehman turns 87 today. Part of too many incredible movies to list altogether, her filmography, work and contribution to Indian cinema is beyond compare.
Sridevi's co-star of four films, the two worked together from 1983 to 1991. Celebrating the iconic one today, Waheedaji's famed looks, dancing and acting skills, grace, elegance and fashion savvy credentials have not been celebrated as much as her male counterparts or even directors from her era.
Stills and clips of Sridevi with Waheeda Rehman in Chandni and Lamhe, both Yash Raj films. She loved Lamhe so much, she told Yash Chopra that it would be her final Hindi film, but fate had another path in store for her as she worked in a handful of other movies where she was presented beautifully.
Yet another grouse with Filmfare team; Waheedaji should have won Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Lamhe. She was flawless. But as history has repeatedly proven, Filmfare gets it wrong soooooo often, its almost comical. Alia Bhatt has six times as many Filmfare trophies as Waheeda Rehman!! lol. Whattttt! Alia has more trophies than Nutan! Thrice as many as Meena Kumari. Which PR-gas-pumped world are they living in?!
