Urvashi Rautela: Some are born with a silver spoon in their mouth; she was born with a silver foot

Courtesy of motor mouth Urvashi Rautela, one of the worst actresses I've never seen, and vulgar dancers I've accidentally seen on social media, the age-gap feature regarding Sridevi and NTR has been trending suddenly--even though I wrote the passage a few years ago.

For the record, NTR was born on May 28, 1923, while Sridevi was born on August 13, 1963; an age gap of approximately 40 years and three months. A dozen films over a decade, the duo worked in mostly Telugu blockbusters, remembered by a generation of hardcore fans. If you see the song and dance routines, there's an innocence to it and campy, kitsch fun that will never make you cringe. Now, can we say the same about Dabidi dibidi?!

Urvashi Rautela was born on February 25, 1994 and her co-star of Daaku Maharaaj, Telugu actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, was born on 10 June 1960; the age gap of 34 years. They've worked in one terrible, but successful film together and the self proclaimed 'pageant legend' has done more interviews than movies recently. Just about everything that spouts out of her mouth needs to be fact checked as it's exhausting keeping up with her level of "delulu". Let's start off with her own Miss Universe title tag; funny how she's not mentioned in the official Miss Universe website.

In one-bizarre interview after another, where the most inane non sequiturs pour out of her mindless chatter, she's been roping in star alliance, carpet bombing interviews with celebrity name drops (Hrithik Roshan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Kiara Advani!) to make herself relevant and in the news - and it's worked. Even we're talking about the non-actress here!!

She's recently claimed that Sridevi is/was her favourite actress and in a twist that you could have almost predicted, she even made Sridevi's tragic death placed in the context of herself! It's a skillset; she really should go into marketing.

With 72 million followers on Social Media (mostly instagram), she's riding a bizarre wave of popularity, buoyant by the force of her own petard. Whether this online popularity translates to offline success, remains a risible fact to be checked. The 'all natural mountain girl' has made mountains out of mole hills for a long time.

Err... 404

Every claim to fame can be put into context. We can't deny her social media following, but there's a fine line between who's laughing with her, and at her...

Some people are born with a silver spoon in their mouth; others, a silver foot.
