Manish Malhotra's Gown and Glory with Sridevi: Indian icon in Sri Lanka As celebrity designer Manish Malhotra tries his hand at western silhouettes and ensembles, he dolled up Sridevi--one of the few actresses who can pull off Indian or Western wear with ease and elegance--for an award-show, at Sri Lanka's Hiru Golden Film Awards 2016. Pre-stage appearance, her team captured the Goddess-ian actress at her suite and of course the icon looks phenomenal.
As its "the great Sridevi", tall, stauestesque, iconic... the dress is fine and she looks "like a Disney Princess" (India Today). However, Malhotra needs to stick to his strengths... I don't see this line taking off. His dazzling Indian outfits fly off the shelves--and with good reason. This seems a little Project Runway... no?
