Rishi Kapoor was a jobbing actor, who worked consistently throughout his life. A gifted and natural superstar, underrated beyond belief as his restrained work rarely got him the accolades he so richly deserved - we are remembering him today on his birth anniversary.
He worked well with Sridevi in blockbusters Nagina and Chandni, holding his own while his leading lady had the title roles.
Endlessly entertaining on and off screen, his interviews were uncensored, un-pc fun. A natural wit, his performances in the second chapter of his life, when he appeared in more character roles, were of another level. He finally found his happy groove - only for fate to curtail his second innings so cruelly, by taking him away at age 67.
