Twins separated at birth, one weak and intimidated, the other street smart and strong, the double role has been acted out only by stars with range; Dilip Kumar, Hema Malini, Sridevi and Anil Kapoor. Funnily enough, this oft-told-tale, seems to have an incarnation after every few years (although Chaalbaaz and Kishen Kanhaiya released months apart). Every single film listed above was a major success - so its unsurprising, the film will yet another incarnation soon with another actor taking over the dual avatar; apparently its going to be Shradha Kapoor.
Not sure she has the range or the box-office draw (Stree and Stree 2 worked because of the writers/director/ensemble cast), but lets see.
Would be cool to see an actor/star play the part, someone established like Kareena Kapoor or Deepika Padukone. Vidya and Alia would be predictable, Sridevi's kids still need time, Katrina Kaif herself is self-aware of her limitations. Perhaps Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan a decade ago could have killed it...
TBH this one might need to be left alone for another decade.
There is no devi like Sridevi today.
