The Stylist Edit: The mystery of the yellow embroidered full sleeve blouse!

Like what happened here and how?! 

Fiercely competitive leading ladies, how on earth did these top stars, and Pooja Bhatt, end up wearing, essentially the same look?! 

Different shades of the yellow-mustard sari, the heavily embellished and embroidered blouse - each full sleeve - all styled with the same open, breezy hair and adorned with heavy earrings and no other accessories... 

Don't forget this is long before social media, Instagram. Long before stylists and known, named celebrity designers... but how did each leading lady end up year, after year, with the same look for a song in a major film?! Now you know the top three would rather die than copy the other.

Madhuri Dixit's costume designer and stylist for Beta (1992) was Anna Singh. Anna Singh famously designed the iconic orange halter-neck choli and backless look for the hit song "Dhak Dhak Karne Laga," which reportedly was created on a very tight deadline of just 24 hours. The look went on to define Madhuri's image in the early 1990s as the "Dhak Dhak Girl".

Juhi Chawla's costume designer and stylist for Darr (1993) was Neeta Lulla. Neeta Lulla was responsible for crafting the iconic 90s wardrobe that popularized flowing chiffon sarees paired with modern, corset-inspired off-shoulder blouses and halter cuts. 

Now Sridevi worked with Neeta Lulla for a major part of the early 90s and Anna Singh worked the most with Pooja Bhatt... now which designed was inspired by what lies the question! 

This is the sort of loose thread that keeps us up at night... We await responses from Anna Singh and Neeta Lulla. Until then... ponder away!
