Sridevi and Mithun Chakraborthy in Watan Ke Rakhwale. A typical 1980s masala movie. Er. It was awful. But forget our opinion, the movie was a bona fide blockbuster! Go figure... The Sridevi - Mithun chemistry was palpable. Sridevi looked mesmerising, rocking the fashion of the era. Her Indian attire is always on point. Sridevi employed novel sartorial tactics for a specific look in the film; using the embroidered borders of a traditional sari as pleats for her salwaar kameez.
Sridevi worked with a trio of Bollywood legends in this film; Ashok Kumar, Sunil Dutt and Dharmendra. In fact, it was one of the biggest movies of the year; there were three generations of actors and actresses in this film; Ashok Kumar and Lalita Power, Sunil Dutt, Dharmendra, Prem Chopra, Kader Khan and Moushumi Chaterjee and then, Mithun Chakravorty, Shakti Kapoor and Sridevi.
