Shot by Shantanu Sheorey, an amazing Indian photographer (who famously married 1980s actress Kimi Katkar) who put a new spin in celebrity photography in the late 90s, these gorgeous shots of Sridevi were published in a handful of film magazines. They've found new life online as the images can be found in various websites and fan blogs - including ours.
This is one of the hottest series of pics of Sridevi; its art directed with simplicity and minimalism. There's also a deliberate pivot in styling that 80s photographers were noted for. The absence of soft-focus, glossy looks that was the signature look of the decade is eschewed for a sharper aesthetic. .
A media colleague pointed out that Sridevi looks like she's been styled to look a bit like Kimi Katkar here (the light eyes, the hot pink swimsuit top - sheathed in a revealing white shirt) but... that might be looking too much into things that weren't necessarily intended... Happenstance. Correlation not being causation...
