Amitabh Bahchchan and Sridevi in Khuda Gawah: Grandiose Epic Indian Cinema

Khuda Gawah
is just one of those movies that should only be seen on the big, BIG screen for the audience to fully appreciate the grandeur and epic scale of what was possibly the biggest movie of the year - if not the decade.

Everything about the movie was huge! At the time, NO ONE was bigger than Sridevi and Amitabh Bachchan in Bollywood, Mukul Anand was the ground-breaking director, Laxmikant Pyarelal were already legendary music directors.... Only the biggest names in showbiz were involved in the making of this lavish movie. Mammoth scale, locations, cinematography, budget, stars, names and expectations.

It is easy to get overshadowed by Big B, yet Sridevi maintains herself with tremendous dignity in the film and she truly shines. The late director of the film, Mukul Anand, had said in an interview that it was wonderful to watch the giants of Indian cinema interact on screen as there was a palpable streak of competitiveness between the two to make on-screen magic. And they did.

Get the best print possible of the film and watch the best of Bollywood create such a fine, opulent melodrama. We dream about watching this on the big screen once again.
