Sridevi and Anil Kapoor (with a guest appearance by Nagarjuna), in the under-appreciated Mr.Bechara (1996).
The film was a gentle comedy and Sridevi excelled, but the lack of flash and buzz around the film and some very mediocre music couldn't save the film at the box-office.
Sad that this gentle comedy tanked 'cause more people should have seen Sridevi, Anupam Kher and Shakti Kapoor's excellent comic scenes. And, it goes without saying, she looked lovely in the film.
If you haven't seen it - watch it! It's a cute littl' movie that deserves an audience.
According to Box Office Report, the movie did average business, recovering from its costs as it was budgeted well and, with word of mouth, international release and telecast rights ensured that it made a surplus - it wasn't a complete washout as originally reported by the media in the '90s. But to be fair, at the time, it did open to near-empty theatres.
