One of Sridevi's earlier films, she dances up a storm in Kalaakaar. Though the title role belonged to young actor Kunal Goswami (son of actor/producer/director/writer Manoj Kumar), it was Sridevi that went on to superstardom while fame and box-office success eluded Kunal. The film was ok, but it had phenomenal songs sung by Kishore Kumar. Released in December 1983 - after the phenomenal success of Himmatwala - young Sridevi was 'the' rage. Sridevi was 19 when she shot the film and the teen queen was all set for fame as a pan-Indian superstar.
