After Sridevi put her career on pause back in 1997 with Judaai (lets just forget Meri Biwi Ka Jawab Nahin shall we?!), she also disappeared from the pages of film magazines. No more interviews, no more covers, no fab photo-sessions, no ads, no nothing.
When celebrity designer Manish Malhotra opened his first shop, he dolled up all the leading ladies of the time for his catalogue - including Karishma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor, Urmila and others.
An awesome gesture by Sridevi, she did a session after years just for Manish and posed in these gorgeous outfits; a gauzy cream sari and a sparkling pink salwaar. Gorgeous, gorgeous!
The designer, Manish Malhotra, spoke to rediff (http://www.rediff.com/entertai/oct/22mani1.htm) and he said;
Rediff: Who is the most beautiful woman in the world according to you? And who best suits your dresses?
Manish Malhotra: Leave aside the question of the most beautiful woman in the world. But I can tell you the best one whom I have worked with - Sridevi. I did Gumraah, Laadla, a little bit of Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, Army and Judaai. I love her professionally, I love her carriage.
TBT: Early days of Manish Malhotra - when he was a model turned stylist and new designer - getting high praise from the get-go. He was styling for Farha, Juhi Chawla and of course, Sridevi.
